Via del Corso, shopping in Rome
The beating heart of Roman shopping and a short walk from the Hotel d’Inghilterra, via del Corso is the most famous street in Rome’s historic centre.
It’s a 1,500-metre-long artery linking piazza Venezia with piazza del Popolo, along which you can find large chains such as H&M, Zara and La Rinascente, as well as high fashion brands, historic shops and places to have a coffee or eat.
A true outdoor shopping centre, via del Corso is particularly lively at weekends and during the pre-Christmas period, when a river of people walk along the street, taking advantage of the great variety of shops.
Via del Corso lends itself, however, to more than just shoppers.
The road, in fact, is a succession of historical palaces, churches and symbolic places such as Palazzo Bonaparte, Palazzo Salviati, Galleria Doria, Galleria Alberto Sordi, Piazza San Claudio and Piazza Colonna.
