An ancient elegant and cozy private residence
History
Designed in the Palladian style, Hotel Villa Michelangelo was built in the 18th century as the country house of the aristocratic Tomi family of Vicenza. In its latest incarnation, the villa is an elegant getaway for those in search of tranquillity and relaxation, away from the stresses and strains of urban life.
During the last century, the villa changed hands several times, but managed to retain its period charm, as evinced by its original walnut beams and highly polished Venetian seminato (random mosaic) floor, as well as by the manicured grounds that encircle the entire property.
The history of the villa is also encapsulated by the ancient trees and magnificent olive groves that combine to render this historic noble residence the ultimate sanctuary for those who love the sense of peace that comes from being in close contact with nature.
Elegance
A refined rural atmosphere.
Just like the nearby city of Vicenza, Hotel Villa Michelangelo has an innate elegance thanks to its Palladio-inspired architecture and the extensive, age-old grounds that encircle the villa.
Once inside, you are sure to be charmed by the light-filled spaces, the warm, tastefully coloured fabrics and the large windows affording a stunning panorama of the Berici Hills. Perhaps best of all are the guest rooms, which combine a rustic feel with tremendous sophistication and exclusivity, embellished yet further by the period furniture and original wooden and Venetian-mosaic floors.
The appeal of this hotel set in the Vicentine countryside is complemented by the wonderful panoramic swimming pool, the highly respected La Loggia Restaurant and the 11 public rooms available for weddings, ceremonies and events of all types.
