The Palio is the most important event organized by the city of Siena, which takes place every year on July 2nd and August 16th, since 1633. In the Palio, the different Sienese Contrade, the quarters that the city is divided into, go head-to-head in a heated horse race in Piazza del Campo. Don’t miss the possibility to discover the testimonies and victories of the famous Palio by visiting the museums of the seventeen contrade.
