BENEFITS
"Art of motor control," is how Joseph Hubertus Pilates defines his method of training.
In fact, the method originally took the name Contrology (literally counterogy), having as its five founding principles: concentration, control, fluidity, precision and breathing.
The goal for Pilates was to make people more aware of themselves, their bodies and their minds to unite them into a single, dynamic and functional entity. In a sense, he fused the best aspects of Western physical disciplines with those of Eastern techniques. Wanting to summarize the working mechanism of the method devised by Pilates, one must start from the identification of the biomechanical and/or postural imbalance of the person, through the analysis of the body's center of gravity.
From here, always taking special care to respect the five principles, one begins to acquire the technique of performing the exercises through the planning of protocols that are always progressive and customizable. Finally, from systematic practice, accompanied by periodic checks both postural and biomechanical, important benefits are obtained such as: greater flexibility and extension of joint movements; better coordination; a significant increase in both strength and muscular endurance, especially of the core (abdominal, lumbar, pelvic floor, etc.) and consequently a better and more functional posture both static and dynamic of the trained subject.
It is clear how these benefits will also positively influence the quality of life in terms of self-esteem and perception of one's body, more efficient breathing, and greater mental focus.
Additional indirect benefits will include increased basal metabolic rate, improved quality of sleep and strengthened immune defenses.

PILATES IN THE WATER (group of max 5)
Pilates in the water has many benefits due to the friction of the water and floating so the muscles work gently. It improves flexibility, agility, strength, and blood circulation. It firms and tones. The pressure of the water and the massage created by the movement stimulates circulation and reduces water retention. It is excellent for those suffering from swollen legs and ankles. The benefits for the back are remarkable, strengthening the muscles that support the spine. The water takes the weight off the body, making the workout easier on the skeleton and joints. Pilates in the water helps to relax and regain balance through breath control combined with single movements and floating. It reduces stiffness and stress.
