For the first time in 2008 and again in 2014, the world’s most famous, graceful and poetic cats took over the Politeama Rossetti. The most celebrated of all musicals returns to Trieste in its original production, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Thomas Stearns Eliot, directed by Trevor Nunn, produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group, and on tour by David Ian Productions.

On November 28 and 30 and on December 5, 7, 11 and 13, 2025, Il Barbiere di Siviglia will be performed at Teatro Verdi, with music by Gioachino Rossini. A comic opera in two acts with a libretto by Cesare Sterbini, based on the play of the same name by Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais.

From December 7 to January 6, the Christmas markets will take place in Trieste, including events in Piazza Sant’Antonio featuring around 100 stalls offering food, wine, and handcrafted products, as well as the local artisan market “Barbacan Produce” in Piazza Barbacan.

Composed of emerging voices from the contemporary scene, singers from traditional gospel backgrounds who have performed in Harlem’s longest-standing choirs, and some of the finest musicians from New York’s Black Churches, the Dream Gospel Choir is regarded by critics as the most compelling ensemble on the new Harlem gospel scene — the true beating heart and global cradle of gospel music.

Following the great summer successes of the 2025 Operetta Festival, “Cin Ci Là” and “Al Cavallino Bianco” — warmly received at the Politeama Rossetti and Teatro Verdi in Trieste respectively — the December Gala dedicated to the light opera genre returns to the stage. The event is the result of a long-standing collaboration between the International Operetta Association and the Teatro Stabile of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

New Year’s Eve at the Rossetti is rock!! Step into 2026 to the sound of Queen and — accompanied by Galileo and Scaramouche — into a story that couldn’t be more fitting: inspiring, forward-looking, driven by the urge to fight for a better world. We’re talking about “We Will Rock You”, the cult musical by Ben Elton, written in collaboration with Roger Taylor and Brian May of the legendary Queen.

Following last year's success, the Ukrainian Classical Ballet returns to the stage of the Politeama Rossetti with its wonderful production of “The Nutcracker”, naturally featured among the scheduled events during the Christmas season.
